Peter Venkman is one of the three professors on the Ghostbusters team, who specializes in psychology and parapsychology. Despite Ghostbusters' aims and achievements, Peter was not as enthusiastic about the topic and didn't believe in the existence of ghosts as much as others until he actually saw one. This character is very carefree and frivolous and he views even his work with skepticism. To catch and hold ghosts in the Trap, they had the Neutrona Wand, the blaster used to fire a stream of positively charged ions at them.
