A bubble column is a unique block in the Minecraft game that can be generated by placing magma blocks or soul sand in water. Players or mobs that can breathe can enter a bubble column to refill their air supply at the same speed that they would when they leave the water. However, it doesn't help with mining speed underwater and even slows down the process.
